7 Deadly Sins of Reading TAG

I have a soft spot for TAG videos on YouTube.. I absolutely love them, I could watch them all day long.

There was one that caught my eye recently and it’s the Seven Deadly Sins of Reading TAG. It’s not a very long TAG, only eight question long 😉 so I thought I’d answer them here..

What is your most expensive book?

I have The Complete Works by William Shakespeare which cost me about € 30..

What is your least expensive book?

This has to be How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff. This was on my reading list when I studied English and I bought it at a secondhand bookstore for € 3.

Which author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Stephenie Meyer and Suzanne Collins.. I loved the first book of both the Twilight and the Hunger Games series, but then it just got worse and worse. I read all the books because I felt like I had to, because it’s a series, but I didn’t enjoy them. Especially Twilight, Breaking Dawn, with the switching of the point of view… Aaargh!!!

What book have you deliciously devoured over and over with no shame whatsoever?

I have never reread a book but if I had to pick one that I would consider reading again it would be The Fault in our Stars by John Green. The choice of words in this book is so perfect that I could enjoy it again and again, and again and…

What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?

I’d have to say Wuthering Heights. When I picked it up last year, I just wasn’t in the right mood. I couldn’t find the energy to continue so I put it down. One day I’ll read it.. Promise!

What book do you most talk about in order to sound like a very intellectual reader?

I think.. Maybe Shakespeare? If not that then I guess last year it would have been The Great Gatsby..

What attributes do you find most attractive in a male or female character?

Male: Villains with a chance at redemption. Best example I can give you are Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape from the Harry Potter series. In the first books they are introduced as bad guys, but I always wanted them to end up either neutral or on the good side..

Female: Strong women with a mind of their own. I’m immediately thinking of Elisabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice (which I’m reading at the moment). She stands up for her own opinion, speaks her mind and is just a completely awesome character ;).

What books would you most like to receive as a gift?

The Harry Potter books. I read them while I was growing up. I was one of the millions of kids who had to wait for the next one to be published. And I read them in Dutch because my English wasn’t good enough at that time. The last two I read in English.. One day I want to reread them all in English and I’d like to buy (or receive) them in the beautiful signature edition by Bloomsbury. I love those covers!

So there you go. That was the 7 Deadly Sins of Reading TAG. I hope you found it interesting. If you’d like to do this TAG on YouTube or on your blog then I tag you! Leave a comment if you answered the questions because I’d love to know which books you love (or hate).

Also, if there is a TAG you want me to do, let me know!

See you soon!

  1. I mostly buy the pocket editions.. They are always around € 10 sometimes more sometimes less.. Most of the bigger paperback or hardback books cost anywhere from € 20 to € 30… 🙂
